Accident update

Thank you everyone for all the messages of support and encouragement here and on Facebook!

All is now going well. On Monday my ankle was securely screwed back together in a successful operation. After two more nights in Vivien Pellas Hospital we transferred to la Mariposa for recuperation and to await plans to get me home. I can’t think of a better place to be. Paulette and all the staff are looking after me wonderfully well and Alan jumps up and down and trudges back and forth responding to all my unreasonable demands all day. There is plenty going on, lots to look at, people to talk to and a friendly black dog keeping me company.

We shall both be flying home Business Class on the Doctor’s recommendation. The flight still has to be arranged following a lengthy email exchange between us, the Insurance Company and STA with whom we booked the original flight. The six hour time difference hasn’t helped communication!

Will let everyone know when we’ve been repatriated!  Meanwhile I’ll tell you some more about our adventures.

Thanks for the update. We have been wondering how you are both doing. Hope you continue to be looked after business class style once you get home, Jan! Then Alan will need a holiday……

  5. Dear Jan,

We are glad to read that your operation went well and you are safely back at la Mariposa, being looked after with care. At least you are smiling in your photograph.
Keep us updated as to your return.
The good news is that at the moment in the UK it is very spring -like weather and the daffodils are starting to come out, as is the sun. We have been down to Chichester today, to the festival theatre to see Jeeves and did make us laugh !
