Granada, Nicaragua

Granada is one our favourite colonial cities so we were delighted to be there again. We did all the usual things that tourists do! Wandered around admiring the elegant buildings, enjoyed Happy Hour on the Calzada, had batidos in Parque Central, chocolate in the  Museo de Coca and climbed the tower of La Merced Church.

We also took an early morning trip to the Isletas, small volcanic islands on Lake Nicaragua. The lake was quiet and peaceful at that time of day, we saw lots of birds, several monkeys and ate a hearty breakfast at La Isleta de Pirata!
